The “Stellar Axis: Antarctica” site was conceived as an online exhibition about the “Stellar Axis” expedition led by artist Lita Albuquerque and through the National Science Foundation.
For the main background, we directed a video made with footage of the team’s journey and the creation of the artwork. We took a documentary-style narrative approach to the content, giving the site the feel of a story. We were inspired by “Spiral Jetty,” the film by Robert Smithson chronicling the creation of that seminal work.
